Application of a special corset for neurological complications of degenerative lumbar diseases. Patients with neurological complications of degenerative lumbar disc disease must get back to active life as early as possible. Because these patients take analgesic and muscle relaxant drugs, their pain and protective activity in muscles are reduced. Therefore, pressure increases on
nerves is more and a pathological process.
We have studied more than 40 lumbosacral corsets offered till now for the treatment of low back pain. We designed a principally new corset form. Our corset was applied to more than 1250 patients with acute herniation of lumbosacral disks, after manual therapy throughout 14 years.
Rigid corsets, prepared specially for each patient, connect the lowest point of the thorax with the pelvis, thus dispersing load and reducing pressure on the herniated lumbar disk and strictly restricting movements of the lumbar region. Compressing the spine and abdomen by the corset, intra-abdominal and lymphatic pressure rises; therefore increase tonus of the spine. Nutrition to the disc gets better, temperature increases in the lumbar spine. As a result is correction of spinal curve deformity, protection against spinal instability and further
deformations and complications are prevented.
The corset is to be pulled hard and fastened at the end of an exhalation, when the patient lies. For warned complications, of undesirable influences (of pressure on soft fabrics and atrophy of muscles), as soon as possible begins physical trainings at lie up situation.
